RC Driving Style
First, when i am driving, it seems like the front tires are getting 90% of the power. When i take off, they spin out and when i brake hard it rolls over forward. I can hold the front up and put a little pressure on the rear and it seems like its getting torque, but nowhere near what the front is getting.

Also, low end power seems decent but high end seems weak. i don't have much of a smoke trail either.........

thanks in advance

new development. when i hold all three tires and turn one rear one it gets tightand then "pops/slips" and then gets loose and repeats. When i hold all three and turn a front one, it gets tight and doesn't budge.

please don't tell me a diff is shot. Its only got 1 tank and a few runs around the yard on it.

If it is shot. This mofo is going into the attic. Not having a tmaxx repeat.

This go around the diffs I refilled with 30K Mugen fluid. The diffs are sstill good. I inspected them BOTH.

It was running pretty good. (front turnbuckle popped off but i swapped shaft ends with another one and it seems to be ok)

I just started noticing that it was "stoppie'ing" and then it was coming out of a 6" ditch and the rears were still in the ditch and the fronts were out. The front were spinning and the rear was acting like it was getting 1/8th throttle

I am sure it was all great when you shipped. I'm not blaming you at all. I just apparently have the worst "luck" ever with rc's.

I really don't know where to go from here. (had to call ma boys and tell them the bash session was off for a few days) :(

Hmmm, How is the engine running? I have been able to get about a good 1.5 hours in only cut short due to time of day. The diffs are strong and should be good for sometime.Heavier diff fluid may be something you want to try. I ran with 5K Kyosho fluid.

engine is running great. starts almost immediately. (you had me confused for awhile on the fuel pressure tubing from the exhaust to the tank) i was installing the other pipe when i realized i just needed to stick some tubing into that hole, lol)

I am pretty sure the rear diff has given up the ghost. i set the front skid on the leg of a chair so the front were free and i gave it some gas. The rear jerked a little but it was pretty weak. the front was spinning like it should. My rear skid is full of fluid so i and gonna break it down and make sure thats what the problem is. The driveshaft is still spinning and the hex's aren't stripped so that pretty much narrows it down Like i said though i'm not blowing cash on another truck and replacing parts every week. I'll clean it back up and use it as a conversation piece.

now i'm not too sure. i pulled off the bottom section and the diff looks ok. i dunno where the oil is coming from. I did notice that i can lock the rear shaft and still turnt the rear rims. They don't look stripped but maybe they are worn to the ppoint of slipping? Gonna install the mashers, reassemble, and see how it goes.

Kurt, I am going to get a new diff and send you that one. I will fill it with 5K fluid. I am to please. I will order the parts today.

don't just yet. lol

Is is possible for the hex on the 40 series rims to be a few mm or so larger than what the hex on the masher rims is? I pulled the joes off and at first they look fine but when you get real close you can see where the hex was spinning and slowly melting/eating the plastic. I don't know how the fronts are fine and these messed up, but whatever. I put the mashers on and it seems to be fine. gave it gobs more pep as well. My next question is should i be able to audibly hear it switch gears? the lowend is great but it doesn't seem like its switching gears and although the rpms are pretty high, a fairly fast person could probably keep up with it.

another thing. when i refill the fluid, you just pull off the skid and pour it in over the r&p? then put the skid back on? I was suprised to see the gears looking at me when i pulled off the skid.

I couldn't keep up with it when it hit high 2nd 3rd forget it.Have you tried to use the wheels and tires I sent? THose worked great for me.

yep. i have the mashers on it now. runs a heck of alot better. Its just not as quick as i expected. Its a little tricky keeping the nose down but i am sorta ez on the throttle it handles much better

i don't hear it switch either. i am gonna run it on the road and see if i can tell a difference.

You may need to retune the engine and or the slipper. I know it wasn't due to the slipper being too loose.

here is where it stands now.

Front end comes up super easy but its still controllable. I had to bump my brake % down to 72% to keep it from stoppie'ing, It takes it awhile to catch second on the grass (40yds) but its much quicker after that. (i assume thats 2nd and not 3rd) its the only audible change i can hear.

i have a full fuel bottle through it now and as long as the rain hold off, i am gonna try to bash a little. I moved the battery pack to the tray on the oposite side of the exhaust and zipties it there. I am still a little nervous with the controls but i think it will be ok.

Iam going get a shower and then i'm off to the park. I'll update when i get back.

it was an EXCELLENT bash session. I think i talked a friend into a savage X. Details later with a "carnage" report.

gotta go take care of the ol lady

edit: glitching was due primarily to the exhaust pipe rubbing on the cage. I put some rags around it to isolate it from all other metal and it got much better. I am gonna put some exhaust wrap on the pipe tommorow and see if that eliminates the problem.

Carnage
stripped spur whie trying to climb a metal slide (super smooth surface)
rear shocks came unthreaded so i'll need to re-oil and assemble tonight
