Hey guys, sorta new to the forums, but now i got some questions for you all. I just purchased a PICCO .26 broke in fine no problems, but after a short run like 100 feet or so "full throttle", it will idle down then rev REALLY high and then slowly die down. but after it warms up, it wount do it as bad , but it will still do it "annoying", but now after it warms up its like my tranny stays in 2nd gear wount do wheelies nothing just revs to full RPM and goes. dont know if thats my tranny becouse i adjusted the shirt screw to later and early. so i thought it was the stock clutch shoes. so i purchased some new aluminium shoes and a 16tooth vented clutch bell. same thing and once again i adjusted my shift points. I'm so boggled on what it could be. just woundering if u guys knew what this could be.
much thanks

Might be the lsn is to rich I've was having the same problem with my stocker, leaned it out now it works fine

Picco 26, hmmm. Is the LSN silver or black? The silver one seems to have a really rich midrange, the black one has a different taper and no rich mid problem. I put a modified 21BB carb on mine. The stock picco carb had the same problem you outlined. WOT,drop to idle, but the engine spools up then goes to idle. That's a messed up mixture due to the LSN. It comes from too much fuel getting in the case, but idle air flow. There's not much you can do about it unless you change the LSN or do a carb mod. There's another thread about this in the engine section.

Your problem with wheelies is twofold. First, reread the first paragraph. You're not developing max power. I'm running stock shoes and clutch bell (14t). I have a 16t, but that works against doing wheelies. Drop the 14 back in. To do wheelies, go for a lower gear, not a taller one. It's all about torque. A properly tuned and tweaked picco will do wheelies with a 16t, but not as easily as a moderately tuned one with a 14t. The aluminum shoes are great, I'm gonna get a 3 shoe setup sometime, so it's not a waste.

I've noticed that with this setup, gear changes are almost instantaneous. The picco has so much power, it just goes right to second. You could hold the truck off the ground and slowly apply throttle and see where it shifts, and tune it from there if you really wanted. But most of your problems are related to the carb.

Hope this helped,

Hey thanks guys for the help got the idle problem fixed, and my slipper clutch was lose thats why it wouldnt shift, sad thing is got the truck running perfect, i break the pullstart :flaming: so looks like I'm off the LHS to pick up a rotostart. thanks again guys for you help
take it easy

Be sure to pick up a 6x12mm bearing for the roto. Christian can tell ya about putting the roto on a picco, it's not a direct bolt-on as such. You'll need that bearing to keep the starter shaft from backing out and screwing up your 1 way.
