What is the fastest drop-in available for a T-Maxx? I have the out of the box 2.5 right now, which has about a gallon and a half ran through it and I'm bored with the power already. I have been told to check out the Sirio .18 if I can still find one = Ebay. Any other suggestions?

sirio .23 is a great motor, i have it on my maxx. half throttle will flip it on its roof

you could go with the picco .21 its a powerful motor. alot of ppl say its no fun to tune. a good freind of mine has cursed his picco many times lol

I can agree w/ this...it's an awsome engine when It's running good.....but you are constantly tweaking it.....

how much power does the sirio 23 put out. HP wise?

Dropping high torque mills into your ride is an exciting thing to do. Just beware that the rest of the RC isnt designed for the additional power. Be prepared to do a lot of upgrading as parts start to explode :D

my motor only tore up spur gears so far. i stripprd the diff. but that was my fault. i held the truck and blipped the throtthe. as far as the sirio .23 hp rating. i dont know I've seen ppl say 3hp. i read a thread on here about someone saying an rc mag dynoed it. i can't find the article. according to him it was one of the most powerful motors ever tested. i can't really compare it to the picco bc i dont have wheelie bars. theres a video in the video section of a tmaxx with a sirio.23 smoking a savage with a .26. that dosent really prove much bc a savage is much heavier.

the sirio is for serious racing...it's like a ferrari in the RC world.....HP is not the best judge of how good an engine is...you really need to look at the power curve......it's easy for these small engines to wind up quick but the really good ones keep the torque lower on the bottom so you don't just spin tires on the start....

Thanks for the input everyone. I am going to keep my eyes peeled for a used .18 or .23 Sirio.

Plaidfish......wouldn't more torque on the low end cause more wheel spin out of the hole?

Siro 23 IMO! Engine comes with so much power!!!

yes I worded that funny...I mean they keep the torque that is on the bottom lower....the torque band usually won't kick in for a little w/ the really exotic engines......hard to explain the way I've seen it......I think when you pay the big bucks for anengine what you are paying for is a more user friendly power band.....

No offense to you Sirio lovers, but what good is that?

I have a hard enough time with steering control. LOL!!!!!!!!

yeah the throttle control is actually more critical than steering on the track...IMO.....I still have to fight the urge to just nail it WOT.....LOL I love it when you just crank the steering on a buggy and make it spin like o top...I actually twisted a tire right off the rim doing it a few weeks ago.....the foam got spit out and I didn't realize it for another few laps when the tire just flew off the rim.....If rubbin is racin then Fixin is Fun?!?!?!?
