Has anyone else had a problem with Faskoat? This is my 2nd time using this CRAP. The 1st time I had probs as well but though, ok maybe I did something wrong, so I would try it again. This time (I'm not gonna get into to much details, its for the contest..hehe) but I am doing parts with some faskoat. I laid out a mask, and now the time comes to weed the trim and this faskoat is like weeding threw rubber cement. anyone else have this prob and have any tips to make it easier? I do know this though, I'm not using it again unless the whole lid is done with this crap. Its causing me to have to weed it, and then follow it with the exact knife just so I can lift the mask.. Its been a real pain in the ass and a VERY slow process.

do you mean FASMASK, the liquid mask made by Fascolor? Faskoat is just a clear overcoat you spray on when the body is finished. I'm currently using FASMASK on a test piece (for the contest) and it's working great!

No, the faskoat for spraying glitter through. It sucks because I'm using it for small pieces. I've painted the main base color then had the masked part exposed, and it had a small trim along the main part, and is a real pain to peel now. The faskoat crap comes with it.

ooh, I'm not understanding why you want to peel it off... forgive me, I don't think I'm following..

edit-

ohhh, the masking is pulling off the paint... Did you spray it heavy?

I had painted my base color and over the masks. Then I peeled out the spot I needed to paint where I wanted the "sparkle" effect. Went fine. Then I painted the sparkle stuff which I just sprayed normal, and painted a couple coats for a heavier glitter effect. Then when I went to peel the trim part that was left on the mask that I'm painting a different color, its being a pain in the ass..I peel it and I get like a rubber cement stringy elactic type crap. So I've been peeling what I can and following it with the exacto knife. Its working just going VERY slow.

Because its clear it prolly dries a bit diff than normal paint. I have never used Fascoat in particular but can only say with some of the other paint projects I've done with glitter type paint you have to peel away your masking while the paint is still pretty damp. You can't wait for it to dry too much or it will peel away with your masks.

All I know is the stuff sucks, and Ill never use it again with a mask..lol.. I dont recommend it to anyone either..

Like I said its not bad if your going to paint the whole body in it, but I dont think Id use it again for smaller stuff. Might be a little better if ya do them parts though..
