i was just wondering if putting a fan on the engine will be a good idea?

what will that do to the engine?
will i have to retune it because it will cool off more..?

i have two little brushless fans i found at work and ran it on a 9.v batt and last for like 1hour..pretty strong too..i have really nothing to use it for and i was just curious if that will help the engine in any way..

thanks:)

I think your main problem would be to get it to draw more air than a hole in the windshield would. I think its a cool (pun intended) idea but IMO a hole in the windshield would do just as good. Maybe not but Thats what I think. JMO though.

this lil fan sucks/blows air pretty good..i was more thinking like zip tie it on top of the engine or side of the head heat sink..:)

well if you do that it might bring the temps down a bit... I would say go ahead and try it, but if it hits a fuel line its probably gunna cut it. so just be careful it doesn't hit anything and it should work alright. I dunno, try it and see I guess. You have my support/intrest I may have to use one. to bring the temps down a tad. or alot, i guess we'll see.

I have some of those fans, and I just don't see them making a signifigant amount of difference. However, I would encourage you to try it, but I would suggest using both of them. I'm not trying to discourage you at all, and I'm not saying it wont work because I'm not someone to tell a person that they can't do something while they are doing it.

Maybe if you put them blowing in a circle around the head, it would make a swirling whirlwind around it... maybe, I dunno give it a try see what happens.

mount on the side or on top...side fits like a glove just need to zip tie it..top will work too but can't check the temps on that..so side will have to do..have not test it yet just an idea see if its affective..yeah things i do when i get board..test day tommorow let you know if it dose anything..

Cute little fan there....I would side of the cooling head.... but hey give it a try a see what happens. The worst case scenario is it does nothing.

Just remember to compensate for lower temps while tuning. It may make it run cooler, so be careful not to overlean it.
That is a good quality engine, it should run cool anyways. Let us know how it turns out.

well ran that beast today and it was running around 240 then i kick the fan on then i got around 223 with out tuning it..its was mount on the side..need to test on mounting it on the head next time..was fun little experiment thoe.

man this RB.23 screams :jittery: great engine
