i have a hpi nitro mt2 rtr and I'm thinking about getting a failsafe. does anyone have recomendations on what to get. looking for one around $40 or lower. thanx.

I typically rely on the Ofna MicroFailsafe and it's worked well for me. Plus it's quite small and will usually fit neatly in the radio box.

thanks

ok i'll check it out, where did you get yours? (Ofna MicroFailsafe)

I use the Futaba and Venom failsafes, which are basically the same just a different color. The Venom can be had under $30, the Futaba cost me $55.

i also need somthing pretty small cause theres not much room on the mt2

cool

ok, i'm gonna go w/ the ofna micro. thanks :) :) :)

Dynamite also makes a very small failsafe. Thats what I put in my son's cars.
They haven't failed me yet.

I saw you were "thinking" of getting one.

Just some advice, I install a failsafe before ever running a car.

For a $25 investment in a failsafe, It can save you hundreds if your car were to take off and crash or wind up in a lake, and save you from hitting anything or anyone.
Just my 2 cents.

I have an Ofna Fail Safe, and it works well when your car goes out of range, and then also when there is a low battery warning. I would say that it is worth the money. The only thing is that is you use rechargeable batteries, the you have to have an rx/tx pack (5 AA rechargable battery pack). If you only use 4 batteries, then the Fail Safe will always flash low battery. I am currently using only 4 batteries, becuase not enough money to buy a rx pack (aboutf $25). I know that I got a bit sidetracked, but I hop that it helps.
