:dancin: any one have a fail safe on thir car, if so will you explain a little bit about it?????? :radio: where can i get one, and if it is a good idea to get one????? thnx..... :o:

get one it stops you gas rc if somthing gose wrong so it dose not take off on you till you fix it it will save your rc from crashing in to somthing and you dont want that trust me

get one

go to your hobby store or e bay i have one in every gas rc i have

Most failsafes will turn on when any of these will happen:

1. You lose your signal from the radio.
2. Your receiver battery is low.
3. A crystal comes out of your receiver (that's what happened to me last weekend).
4. Your receiver picks up another signal.

They help out alot. Though others would also recommend putting a throttle return spring. I have both on myRS4 3 Type SS. And I have a failsafe on my Savage, still looking for a return spring for my Hyper 8 port engine.

Its definitly worth whatever you pay for the peace of mind that you'le never lose control of your expensive RC because your batteries are low or some idiot starts running nearby on the same channel. I bought the ofna mini fiailsafe (like $40 @ lhs) and it has saved my ass twice already.

robriguez - How do you like the Ofna mini failsafe? I was the new product section in my RC Car Action magazine and noticed that. I like how small it is, so you can mount it almost any where. I am thinking between this one and a Venom for my T-Maxx and NTC3.

I'm currently running MPI, Venom and the new OFNA failsafes. They all work AWESOME! The new OFNA is definately small, but, I think the Venom is even smaller. Its amazing, and cool, how small these things are getting. Finally have enough room to breathe! :breakdown

I never did test the effective radio range of my Maxx, but instead chose to be careful to keep it well within communication boundaries. I installed Venom's failsafe last week. It works great, it's small, and it weighs practically nothing. Set the pot switch on the failsafe to throw your throttle servo into brake. It's activated on loss of signal or low receiver battery power.

I didn't know about protection over other signals... hmm.. sweeter yet!

Its actually small enought to fit INSIDE my radio box with the receiver....

Has anyone had any experience with the Dyanmite failsafe, it's the only one my hobby store has in stock.

Are there any failsafes that are better than another?

I have the red dynamite failsafe on my Savage. I run a Novak FM synth receiver with an Airtronics MX3. I've had it for a few months now and it works great. I heard from guys at Airtronics there are other color dynamite failsafes that work well with other types of radios.

Mjime has a red dynamite on his Yoko. He runs the new JR remote with the synth as well. And it runs well.

Personally, I don't like the XTM failsafe. That was my first failsafe for my Type SS. It never worked right, so I got a venom failsafe. And that works great. I also like that new ofna failsafe.

my rtr ntc3 came with an AM rx/tx, can i still use failsafes? i think i heard this was only for FMs? or does it not matter?

exactly.....I had to cut off the tab to make it fit into my receiver but yeah thats all you do. Plug one end into the receiver, the other into the lead for the throttle sever.

Then once its connected, power up, give full throttle press the button on the failsafe. Then give full brake and press the button again. All set.

I'm ruuning with a Venom also and works fine. After I pass my max range the brakes slam on and the car stops dead. Tried it and it worked fine. Still have not run into the low battery activation but see no reason why it wouldn't do the same thing. The only thing I can figure were the failsafe would do no good is when or if the battery power was completely and suddendly lost. There would be no power present to move the servo thus you would have a runaway. but then I guess you can't have everything.

thanx for all the input guyz, i am determined to get one now. Next question, it is about FM radios. :wasted:Good/Bad:sniper:??? what kind is best. and what crystals should you have on hand at the track?:

Heck yes FM is better than AM radios. Ditch the crystals all together and get a snyth radio like the JR XS3. RCNT just had one up for the lottery. They go for about $230ish.

does that include the reciever n everything, if i switch out my radio system do i have to change out my servos?
