Fail Safe????

I am new to nitro and just picked up a Hyper 8 off ebay. Do you have to run a fail safe and if so what brand or brands are best to buy?????

Again, welcome.

Are you an idiot for running without one............Absolutely!

I like the Ofna and Dynamite units small, cheap and reliable.

I would go with Dynamite,I have a fail safe on ALL nitro cars/trucks.A must when you consider how little it costs and how much damage/loss it can prevent.

Thanks for the replies and the link, I'm sure ill go with the ofna micro and with my M8 and spektrum system that should all be a good combo!!!!

Correct me if I"m wrong, but doesn't the spektrum have a FS built in?

The Spektrum system has a built in failsafe, no need to buy one. It's a little tricky to setup but it's there.

I have an old xtm one in my buggy and it works fairly well, but the new xtm on is just tiny and works just as well. plus it's only like $20.

Spektrum as a built in one, reference your manual, but if you are going to buy one, in addition to the Ofna and Dynamite ones, Futaba has a nice little failsafe as well. $20.00 at Tower.

Well silly me ordered one and since I ran electric buggies with my M8 and spektrum I didnt know I've had a fail safe. Well always nice to have one on hand I guess....LOL Thanks all I will have to read the manual and figure out how to configure the spektrum. Well altleast I will save a little weight!!!!!
