Ofna fail safe seems to be the most popular.
You can pick one up for around $20 bucks.

That all I have ever used is the ofna and I havent had any problems. They are also small so it makes it easier to find a place to mount them :)

ill chime in 3rd ..all I've used is the ofna, its done fine by me

BUT if you have the cash $45 i think ...venom makes a temp motor limiter / failsafe where you can set it to limit rpm's. if you go over the set temp it slows the rpm's..I'm thinking about it. looks interesting

4th for ofna

i also recomend a battery pack (rechargeable) so when the battery dies just plug it in. no runaways. I've had one. next day ordered 2 from tower. i never regret it

OFNA is a very popular choice. I have used those with no complaints. I also use the Futaba FSU2. It's a few dollars more but can be configured from using 4aa's to a 6v 5cell pack. I would recomend either one.

agreed,

I have the FSU2 and have nooooo complaints. I got mine for about $20 and its so easy to mount due to its size

Venom with temp motor limiter/failsafe is good. Only thing is the temp reading in Venom is higher than temp gun reading. you would need to learn the temp reading difference between the two and set your venom accordingly. When I first got it, I tuned the engine by reading the temp off the Venom and it threw me off, then I used the temp gun, it was fine and I just need to reset the Venom. From then on, I love it.

well i got the ofna fail safe and its a peace of crap the red light wont stop blinking even after put in brand new batteries.........i should have listen retard pilot

Don't worry about the little red light. Just make sure that the failsafe works when signal is lost. If you bought the FSU2 futaba unit, it also has a low voltage setting.

theres a thread somewhere about the light but i think its no biggie. next thing on your list needs to be a battery pack
