Fail safe trubble

I'm haveing trubble with the venom fail safe that is on my new/used nitro rustler it was allready on it and i dont know how to get it to let me have controll over it agian? funny thing is i was less than 10 feet away when it kicked in.

Ok now I'm haveing another problem my fail safe is kicking in when the vehicle is only like20 feet away from me. Is there a way to fix this I'm useing a am radio with this rustler since thats what it came with when i brought it used.

Do you have the four aa holder powering the radio gear in the truck or a 5 cell pack?

Are your receiver batteries good too? What kind of failsafe are you using? Is the antenna on your receiver and transmitter good?

Check those, otherwise you may have to reset your failsafe, or it might be bad. I haven't used one yet, so I'm just tossing suggestions, maybe somebody who has one can pop in here are offer some other info.

I'm useing a 4aa holder at the moment i got a 5 cell pack but havent found a charger for it yet.

The Venom failsafe is new so it should be good. Are you using the battery pack that was in it? That pack may not be good and I meant to pull it before shipping and just send the 4 AA holder. It may come to life after a few charge/discharge cycles. A good pack will probably fix the problem.
I'll still send you the AA holder if you want it but failsafes are finicky with AAs to.

I'm not useing that battery pack that you left in it i took out one of my 4 aa holder from a diffrent rc and put it on this one I'm thinking maybe these batteryies are a little used up so i changed them out and will try agian later on. and from the look of what you are saying i probly need to run it with a battery pack and not the 4 aa ones.

You aren't using rechargeable AAs are you?

no not recharge able ones.

New AAs should let you run for a little while.

+1. I had a similar problem with my maxx in the snow. I'd get about half an hour out of new aa's on hard surfaces, but as soon as I hit the snow, the failsafe would kick in. Because of the extra drag on the tires trying to turn in snow, the voltage got sucked down low enough to trigger the fs. You should be fine for awhile with aa's just because of the much smaller tires being way easier to turn. But a 5 cell pack is the proper fix. A good pack will really bring your servos to life as well.

where do you recoment i get some battery packs at for the rustler.

I picked up a couple Ofna 1200mah 5cell hump packs on ebay for $12 a piece. You'll need a charger that is capable of charging 5 cell packs at around 1 amp as well.
