I have a Savage 21 and now have a Dynamie fail-safe. I can't find anyway to get it into the plastic servo housings. Should I put it on top, and cut a hole into the housing??

I just have mine kinda sticking out of it, hanging by itself. I think I have the same one as yours.

I have an MPI failsafe and I mounted it underneath the plate the receiver is mounted on top of.

If you're running a reverse module, there's just about no room inside for a failsafe. I'd suggest drilling a hole in the radio cover and mounting the FS on top. I would use some clear packing tape to seal any small openings in the FS unit (like the programming button) and seal the servo leads and the hole in the radio cover with some silicone sealant (like the red RTV stuff). that's basicly what I did on my buggy since the FS wouldn't fit in the radio box.

Or you could just use some strong double sided servo tape and stick it to anything flat. You'll just have to watch the wires and try to keep it from getting TOO dirty or wet.

Yeah, forgot to mention that. I use this stuuf that's less than 1/16th" and it's almost impossible to get off without destroying it. I have no idea who makes it, but I get it at the LHS.

OMG, that's the stuff. Yeah, you could stick a booger to a piece of ice with that stuff.

I use the MIP fail safe "orange color one" i was able to installed it inside the radio box by shaving off 2 tabs inside the box. On the aft section of the receiver box under the receiver tray there are 2 tabs at the bottom of the box use a dremel to shave them off and you will have enough room for the fail safe.

I mounted mine OUTSIDE of the cover with double stick tape and drilled a small hole for the wires. its never come off

I have the ofna fail safe on my storm, I really didnt have the room to stuff it in the box either, I just took my cover lid off and filed two small holes on the lip of the box so the two wires could go through, used a piece of double stick tape and taped it to the outside of the box, this keeps all the wires inside the box and the lid still fastens tight.

Fail-safe power drain

Well the fail safe is now mounted, and works great. Now my problem is the drain on the batteries. It seems like the 4 AA batteries only last about 2-3 hours. Does evryone sue rechargeable battery packs??

Yes and no. YEs most of the time, unless I forget to charge them, then I use AA as a back up. Personally, I haven't noticed a difference in run times.

I still run 4 AA Alkalines because I havent found a 5 cell NiMh hump pack I like yet. The Alkalines last me about 2 hours of constant run time.
