Hey Guys I'm new to nitro motors and I bought a T-Maxx a couple months ago and I just can't get it adjusted right  . I was wondering if some one could help with where the stock setting should be at so I have a starting point to work with any help would be greatly appreciated thanks  Jesse G

also I bought a huge dynamite head for this truck and was wondering if there is anything I should consider when changing it. Does the head seat with the block or is there a metal gasket like in full scale truck or car and I'm guessing when I go to tighten it I tighten them a little at a time going directly across from the last one that was tightened? Thanks for viewing my question :)

First off, what .15 engine do you have in your Maxx? Is it a brand new Maxx with the TRX 2.5?

And when you put the head on the engine, there should be thin metal shims in the groove in the original head that you can take out and put in the new head. Then, when you tighten the head screws, use an X pattern.

Its a older truck so I'm not sure I bought it on ebay I thought that the old ones where .15 and the new ones are the 2.5 lol shows you how much I know about it. What is the diffrence? I thought that those number where for 2 diffrent motors I do know that it is a Traxxas motor.

You are right the old ones are the TRX .15 and the new ones are the TRX2.5
But the 2.5 is still a .15 mill.. so your has a blue head on it right..

The factory settings for your mill are
(HSN) high speed neddle 3 1/2 turns out

(LSN) low speed neddle is set flush to the rotery....the side of the carb body

and set idel so there is about 1 to 1.5 mm opening

Thanks zandor that helps alot!!! and yes it does have a blue head on it, so are the newer ones a better more powerfull engine and if so is it a direct bolt on to mine or would I have to change the chassis plate? I also Just figured out that my linkages where slipping on the servo so the throttle was never the same when I was trying to tune it no wonder I was having so much trouble LOL its been like that since the day I got it a couple month ago.

I'm not sure what you mean by setting the lsn to the rotory??? is the rotory where butter fly is opened on the side of the carb?? I know where the lsn screw is just not sure where to set it :)

Ya the 2.5 does have more power but can be a tunning nitemare..
for you to put the 2.5 on your chassie you whould need to put a conversion kit on it..there pretty cheap 40$ I think..but if your going to go that far I whould just do a .21 conversion found here
http://www.carttonic.com/catalog/in...ctinfo&uid=466&pi_id=38759&clist=0,9831,38758

and just flush out the lsn screw to the out side of the butter fly body

ok cool thanks I greatly appreciate the help :)
