when i start my revo 3.3 using the ez start, i'm having difficulty for the first time of the day when the engine is "cold" ambient temp is 70 degrees. I can start at least 3-4 minutes of cranking before the engine start. i know that the fuel is going into the carb, my glow plug is almost new and the idle screw is well adjust. If the engine is "hot" i have no problem at all to start the engine...

can you guys help me with that?

thanks

Pick up a separate glow ignitor/ charger combo. For $20, you won't regret it. If you crank the ez start 3-4 min. at a time, it won't last very long.

is there another option than having a seperate glow ignitor? what do you mean by it won't last very long? you are talking about the ez start motor?

yes, i have burned out an ez start motor when i was new to the hobby, if you hold it on too long you will burn it out, it doesn't take much to do so, so just do like 5 or 6 second intervals and the ez start motor will last MUCH longer

ok so that's it? everyone that are using ez start in the world will have problem starting their truck, it is a known "problem" so i should using a seperate glow ignitor...period?!

The ez start can be ok once you have it dialed in good. But they are a problematic area too.

What's happening is your ez start motor and glow igniter run from the same battery. The ez start motor is drawing all the current away from the glow igniter. Using a seperate igniter will eliminate a lot of frustration.

is there someone using glow ignitor with AA battery? i saw that on ebay, i don't know if it is good or not, is it strong enough, if i have a couple of AA's with me

When ever i have problems with starting... I slap a Fresh battery in the EZ wand and it fires right up...

there is alot of truth in the glow igniter comment.

A cold engine seems to need a lot of glow plug heat.

well i'ved just ordered one on ebay, hope it will improve the starting

thanks for all reply

Hey Tsiap,

I've experience similar issues with my slayer trx 3.3, Remove the blue lead wire all together and just use ez start to turn the engine. I haven't had any problems starting since getting a glow plug starter.

I have one with a c battery it's fine. Did you put your finger over the exhuast tube and crank it before trying to start normal cranking speed can't build good psi in the tank
