When I start the truck, sometimes the gears in the black casing of the easy start slip. How do I get them to grab and turn the motor over? Thanks for any help.

How do you know it's the gears in the starter? If you hear them crunching, that might be it, but more than likely you just need to remove the one way bearing and clean it with denatured alcohol. Clean the crankshaft that it rides on, also. Oil builds up in there, and this becomes part of the maintenance.

I guess I've been lucky with mine, 3 months and I haven't had any trouble out of the OWB.

I just jinxed myself didn't I? :(

Where are the gears at? In the wand, or in the ez start motor? I think i have the same problem. And how do i clean the gears?

It's not the gears in the EZ Start. It's the one-way bearing (which is what the EZ Start spins to turn the motor over). The wand itself is just electronics, no moving parts. You access the OWB by removing the EZ Start from the motor, the bearing has little ridges on the inside of it that allow it to grip the connecting rod when the EZ Start is being used, when the EZ Start is not in use the shaft turns freely inside the bearing. It's kinda hard to explain, but once you take it apart, you'll see how it works.
