i have a ez start on my 3.3. when i hook the wand to it and try toturn the motor over it spins the motorthen free spins then when i let off the button it turns the motor again. someone told me to take the ez start off and tear it down and clean the internals with carb cleaner. is this what i should do or is there a better way?

The one way bearing is slipping. You will need to pull the EZ Start backplate off and then clean the one-way bearing with denatured alcohol, carb cleaner or motor spray. Be sure to note which way the one-way bearing was installed before you remove it. After cleaning, blow it out with compressed air to make sure no traces of the cleaner remains. Now put the one-way bearing on the shaft and turn it both directions. It should spin freely in one direction and lock to the shaft in the other direction. If it does not lock to the shaft, then you are going to need a new one-way.

ok thanks robmob. it still starts it and it works correctly when you run it then shut it off then start it up again. thats why i was wonderin. oh why couldnt i just use rubbing alcohol?
