Had an interesting problem today. My starting wand won't start my truck, but it will start my friend's jato just fine. I'm thinking it's my wiring harness, but there aren't any noticeable pinches or any major rust on the ends. Also, both lights on the wand come on.

Any help is appreciated

Try using the wand with the wire disconnected from the Glow Plug and see if that helps.

If both lights are coming on....... and its TRYING to start..... keep trying. its flooded.... out of gas.... dunno.

What is it doing when you try to start your truck????

It doesn't do anything. The motor doesn't turn and it doesn't make any noise

I would pull off the plug wire and remove the glow plug.....see if the engine cranks over. Now when you do it make sure you are starting from bottom of the piston stroke. I had mine do that once it had kinda hydro locked and got stuck at the top and the Sleazy Start would do nada for it. Same thing...both lights and nothing else would happen.

Thanks Frickinjoey, I'll try that when I get home. That's about the only thing I didn't try when I was messing with it last night

Mine did it a few times....it was the worst when the engine was fairly new. That is one downfall of the ez-start is they do lack torque sometimes. But hey, nothing is perfect. But give it a try and if that does not work let us know and we will go from there....

could also be a burnt brush in the ezstart motor ..i had that happen to me once ...was able to fix it using a brush from an old hair dryer motor and a bit of patience :D

Check to make sure the black and red wires are atatched to the ez start. The wand will still glow with those wires disconected.

The ez start motor is new, maye 5 starts on it. That's the fist thing I checked knall, still no go. I have an old wiring harness that has a pinched ground wire that I could change. The truck is at my friends house right now, I don't have anywhere to keep it at my house atm. As soon as I can get over there to work on it, I'll let you guys know

Got it, had to spin it by hand a little, and it runs fine. I guess it just rusted a little bit or something
