E-Bay. You can find a roto setup at 1/2 the price of your local hobby shop.

its not the price I'm worried about this hobby is dirt cheap compared to my motocross racing haha. I would rather support my local hobby shop than save a few bucks and have to pay for shipping and all that. Its not worth it to me to save a few bucks

now not sure if these things are anything like my built motocross bikes, but they are easiest to start at TDC. so what I'm wondering is with a pull start should I pull slow till the compression is peaked(TDC) then let it recoil and do a full pull? or does it not matter?

It really doesn't matter since the engine cycles with just a couple inches of tug. You always want to put the engine at bdc every time you shut it off though to save the pinch of the sleeve. The sleeve and piston cool at different rates. You'll definitely want a rechargeable ignitor. They will eat any size alkalines in no time. The weight you save by going from an ez to a pull start won't be noticeable unless your trying to shave 1/10th seconds off of lap times. Pull starts work just fine though, once you have your engine running right. An engine that takes some 5-10 seconds of cranking with the ez probably won't start with a recoil. Which makes diagnosing an engine problem impossible.
