Just as it says when I try to start my 2.5 the gp light doesn't come on the ez start. Tried 3 different gp's and still nothing. The wire and connector going to the gp is in good shape has electrical tape on it to fix a coule scrape/bare marks but its started that way many times b4. The batt in the starter is fully charged and new as well. Any ideas?

my EZ sstart box whent bad so i used it for the motor only and bought a glo ignitor It help alot with starting too

I'm guessing thats what happened since it seems kinda common. But I thought it would last more than 6 days... I just bought this truck....

...and now go buy a pullstart! If you can tune, you can pull!

i have pull starts on both my kits and hate them with a passion.
I snapped the pull start on my 1st kit which i managed to fix
and i don't know what happened to the pull start on my other kit... 2nd time running it and when i stopped running it and went to do after run procedure realized that my pull start was gone :(

I'm thinking of going roto start but still not sure yet :S

+1 check the ground wire and make sure any other wires arent grounding out to the frame

The ground is the yellow wire and from the factory it is attached to the motor mount

The wire can be attached almost anywhere it can touch bare metal you can check your glow plug by taking it out attach the blue wire touch it to the cooling head and crank the engine if you see a orange glow the plug is good

Yep yellow wire has a good connection and took the plug out and grounded it on the motor and nothing. Tried 2 new plugs and still nothing. Looks like its back to the hobby store to see if its the ez start or what. I'm going to buy a reg. glow plug igniter since I'm sick of the blue wire taking a beating.

Do you have a volt meter? and I know this is stupid but are your batterys charged if you have a meter
put one lead to the ground and the other to the blue wire and crank you should have voltage. also you could use the meter to check if the wires have a short by using the continuity I would bet there is a short

I'll have to try that one. I should had thought of that lol I'm an electrician by trade.

sometimes I look for Things and they are right in front of me lol This is a hobby and I love wrenching
look where you plug in the ez start sometimes those leads push into the fitting negating contact
good luck let me know

Update, spent alil time with the multi meter today and did continuity tests on all of the wires and glow plugs, then tested DC output of the ez start. Conclusion is all the wires to the motor from the ez start are good. Ez start output itself is 7.28v for the starter side and 1.89v for the ez start, so thats good. Tested the new glow plugs I was trying and they were BAD! Closer inspection showed all of the coils inside were damaged. WTF? I hope I can return these, but I doubt they will take them back since they are opened. Oh well at least I got it figured out.

had the same problem bypass the blue wire and buy a glow starter and use the hand ez starter to spin it

Yea I wouldn't mind going that route, but its one less thing I would have to carry with me if I didn't switch though.
