I went to break-in the Revo today and I could not start it using the EZ Start for poop. Battery was freshly charged too. I ended-up using my brick to ignite the plug instead of the EZ Starts built-in ignitor. Only then did it fire right up.

This is why I prefer a pull start or even a shaft start system. No wiring involved to screw things up.

I stopped using the "blue" wire as it drains the battery too fast. I still use the EZ start but I use the brick and cord to lite the plug. Never fails.

I knew from experience and bought a pullstart before hand. I installed it and life is great.

The hand head starter has a tendency to have a failure on the circuit board. Everything works, but no power goes to the glow plug. Several have failed at the local track, and so has mine. I eliminated the glow wire, still use the EZ-start, but use an ignitor at the plug.
It also extends the battery life of the EZ.

Just got my Revo inn Feb and the ez starter went already. Traxxas will replace it if it's been less then 30 day's since bought.

Get a good glow plug ignitor and use the EZ Start for turning over the motor. If that does not work you have got a flooded motor.

my ez start on the motor itself took a dump. I just swapped it out with another assembly and life has been great. My revo starts first couple of seconds, and stays running till I run out of fuel, or I shut it off... I love my revo!!

I myself like the pullstart. I can actually feel the engine if it is hydro locked. I hate to force an engine to turn over when it is flodded. Plus the EZ start plain sux arse IMO. When I had the maxx and dropped the sirio 23 in I went to the pullstart. Started fine for me. No worries if my bash would end due to the lame EZ start battery going down. I even carried 4 of those puppies. Oh well. Memories now.

Let me pick up where robmob left off.
It's this, powered by a large square 1 1/2 volt dry cell. It will last you the entire season.
