just ran for the first time with the shell on my car :D
noticed it got a bit warm inside so i thought about extending the air inlet to reach closer to the outside... doing this shouldnt be a problem should it with restricted air flow or something

I'm thinking from the top pic to the bottom pic type of thing:

No need to do that. It may cause other issues with tuning and staying properly tuned.

Try cutting a hole in the windshield to let fresh air in.
