Hey guys,

I am thinking of picking up a set of extended TVP's from New era or hot bodies. Anyone know any real advantages to doing this?? Does it really help cornering that much. I know wider will greatly help but does longer have that much to do with it???

Seems there are a couple choices out there. I have done the upgrade (HotBodies) and recomend it highly. More length aids in handling over rough stuff and jumping. I would recomend the New Era products and here is why. If not already, some day you might upgrade the motor. Upgraded motors are heck on drivelines. My picco took out my rear driveline and the only good looking extended rear drive was the one from New Era. This one however, is slightly shorter than the Hot Bodies one that I broke. So, I have had to put spacers in the drive cups to keep the titanium driveline in proper position. I feel that if I had the New Era TVP's this would not be an issue. Another issue is that I have not found an extended TVP skid plate. Anyone else have an opinion on the best extended TVP's?

I am trying to pick up the new era tvp's. They seem a little better constructed than the hot bodies tvp's. The titanium rear drive line is a little bit pricy but when you look at the hot bodies conversion it is $82.00 new and the new era tvp's and ti rear driveline is only three dollars more at that point. I just want to make sure it really is worth it. I would still like to hear more opinions.

The longer TVP shifts the center of gravity around a little and creates a longer moment arm for the trucks rear end. What the heck does that mean? It means that it will make it harder for the truck to pop wheelies and provide a little more stability.

Sky thanks for the info bro. One of the key things I am looking for here is to not have the truck pulling wheelies all the time. Doing wheelies is cool for about two or three times and it than gets on my nerves. Ever since I have installed the new picco it seems to wheelie on command. I don't dig it and it's honestly in effective. I am currently running a 14T/52T combo and I know I need to step up the gearing a little bit to find a happy medium as far as that is concerned. I am glad to know the longer TVP's will aid in this situation. I imagine it won't offer much for cornering. I am also looking into picking up some wider tires as well.

Sounds like you are trying to turn the monster into a bigger monster. Yes, the cornering might suffer, but adding the wider tires isn't going to help. If cornering is truly a concern, I suggest learning to power slide through sharp turns.
:D
