Picked up a brand new extended tmaxx chassis never had anything mounted for 3 bucks. Now my ? Do I have to get different center cvd's and chassis braces to make up the lenght?

i was told that the maxx was a 3.3 when i got it and had a 2.5 motor on it. but ya it is a grey trans. any way to tell if it is for sure a 3.3 grey trans.

i also thought about just building one from the ground up! never have done that before. build one to fit my likings just the way i want and not mess with switching anything over. ill have my other maxx to bash with. so its not like ill be in a huge hurry to finish the other build.

Well if its gray it is the 3.3 trans, because i dont believe they make a gray 2.5 trans or a black 3.3 case. I would just go on ebay and pick up the 3.3 center driveshafts for like ten bucks. There a ton tougher than the 2.5 shafts.

It actually only took me like 4hrs to swap it over, and cleaned everything and just went through it.

If the trans is gray just get some new center shafts and your good to go. The swap is not that hard just do it in stages. Front bulks then rear bulk and then motor/trans and electronics. It is much easier to keep everything in order and not forget where something goes if you do it this way.

i have the traxxas metal center drive shafts.

and ill have to remember that because i didn't know about the trans colors.

well if it will all switch over then ill probably just switch it. i normally just have one RC in the family. I've thought about adding a second so it has a friend around :hehe: wouldn't mind having a revo 3.3 around. the guy i got this chassis from has a revo 3.3 chassis for another 5 bucks. then just have a revo build. :D

If its a 4907 chassis the 2.5 trans may not work coz of the output shaft is shorter

That's easy enough to fix, use the 2.5 wheel sliders cut down to the length needed or us the new style 3.3 sliders & your 5 mm trany yokes with a washer under the E~clips.

Well ill order the braces thursday. I decided to look for a screw kit before I do it though. Ended up buying an rcraven kit off ebay last night. Should be here thursday or friday.
