So I took me revo out tonight before it got dark to have some fun since I won't have a chance to play with any of my rc for a week or 2, the screw that keeps the battery plate on came off, my battery got launched somewhere, and my revo took off through my neighborhood WOT.... that damn thing kept hitting stuff and stayin on all 4's so it kept going until it broke 2 turnbuckles, broke a rim, and ran into a house, needles to say I also found out that I cannot in any lifetime outrun a revo, and when I caught up to it, it was upsidedown WOT I grabbed the wheel to flip it back over and now I've got a killer burn on my hand, and after half an hour of looking for my battery it is still MIA!!!!


Give it up for checking screws!
 
ROFL Sorry but your misfortune has actually cheered me up. Simply cause I actually pictured your Revo running loose thru the neighborhood bouncing off of stuff like a ping pong ball set on self destruction.:pics-stfu:

I've gotta fail-safe, it didn't kick on when the battery dropped out.
 
a failsafe would not have saved you. only a throttle return spring. you can also loop a zip tie through the wires of the plugs to hold them together. as long as you dont have to keep taking it off to charge it.
 
I do have to take it off to charge, I didn't put the throttle return spring back on last time I had the engine out whoops lol
 
OUCH dude, ouch! But, like GrudgE, I have to admit the post made me smile a little bit, picturing that little bullet tearing off with you chasing it hahaha. Jeez...
 
ROFL, been there done that about 16 years ago! I remember one time i bought a Brand new OFNA 1/8th buggy (first time on the track) I had the clip for my frequency and some dude and his kid didnt bother to follow the rules on the clothes line clips at the local track and turned theres on the same frequency and sent my brand new 600 dollar car impaling into the concrete wall I would say every bit of seemed like 200mph lol. Anyways me being me , I just blew it off ( I think I was in a state of shock)... it tweaked the whole car fom front to rear... today if it would have happened I probally would take his wallet.
 
My EB3 did the same thing to to me 5 minutes after i put a new set of front arms on it. Went to run it, fired it up, off it went straight into the wall of my flat and BANG, there went my new front arms. Needless to say i soon bought a failsafe, and a STRONG throttle return spring !! It sucks when it happens, but it does teach you what NOT to do ever again !

After i sold it, first thing i bought for my new rig was a failsafe and a strong throttle return spring. I learnt my lesson well.
 
if you buy a good expansion spring (pulls out, then pulls itself back in again, kinda like a slinky), you can get a cheap but strong one from a hardware store, thats what i do. if you check my buggy in this thread, you will see the spring fitted from the servo horn to the centre diff top plate. It provides more than enough "Persuasion" for the servo to come back to a neutral closed carb position.
 
:pics-stfu: I need pics, I posted pics when my Revo took off straight into a metal handicap parking sign, sheared left front A-arm completely off, bent turnbuckles and push rods. So I feel for ya but I look at all my broken stuff as a reason to upgrade LOL.

it's at my brother in law's right now he's putting new rims and tires on it and cleaning it up, since I have to work all week and he's drawing unemployment, I'll post up some pics of the damage next day I have off.
