I started a thread about my slipping trans to find out that i was not even close. The inside of my factory pipe melted causing the tip to clog and make the truck run like crap.

My question is why/how did this happen. I replaced the pipe with a factory one and will be retuning the truck tommorow and see how it runs.

I didnt have the extra cash to upgrade to the better pipe, so i figured i would ask what everyone thinks of the better pipes and which one they like the best.

Thanks for the help:)

what temps are you running?
That pipe should not have melted!!!
You must be running extremely Lean!!!!!!!!!!!!

To answer your question, get a resonator, the chrome one. But you must figure out how high your temps are. Get a temp gun ASAP

"the only up side to burning up an engine is the piston key chain you get"

my temps are good around 250 to 275 depending on outside temp.....i dont run it right on the edge of being to lean i dont race just mess around the yard and a some closed sand pits in the area.

For a back story real quick.....i tuned it the other day and it was runing perfect then i hit a 2" fence post and destroyed the front side the exhaust is on, after a quick run to the lhs for a-arms/bulkheads and some shock rebuild kits i had it running again. But i think the collision loosened the already melting pipe and that was the end of it...cloged up.

The pipe is the orignal pipe when i bought the maxx like 6yrs ago.....and i just installed the 3.3 about a month and a half ago

So this isn't originally a 3.3 Maxx? Just wondering, when they first came out a friend of mine got one and the pipe did the same thing, twice. Temps good but never figured out why so he sold it .
