Well once I get my suspension finished and get my truck set up where the power is getting to the ground, I would like to start doing some upgrades on the motor. I'm already running a motor saver intake and I would like to upgrade the exhaust. Is there an aftermarket or performance tuned pipe and header that inproves performance that you guys recomend? What other upgrades can I install to boost the performance. I don't want to spend money on something that will actually end up lowering the power.

I run the Resonator on my maxx. I dunno about power boost since I've only ever run it on my Picco (switched pipe at same time as engine), but it sounds cool as hell. Makes it all deep sounding and growly. Almost like a weed eater.

The resignator is the way to go. It looks and sounds better then stock, and power is increased quiet a bit.

traxxas made the resonator specificaly for the 2.5 and 3.3 engines. this pipe is the best bang for the buck on them.

OK, that's what I've been looking at, so I'm glad to hear from some people that have used it. I'm going to start looking for a good deal on one. What else would you reccomend for power upgrades? Which plastic parts or gears need to be changed to metal, and which ones should be left plastic to prevent tearing stuff up.

Stuff like A-arms should be left plastic since it bounces back when you hit something. The gears I think are mostly up to you, but I'm thinking you could to upgrade the gears in the tranny to metal if you want. Even with my Picco .26 though I've never had a stripped plastic gear, so it may just be extra weight (although I DO have the 3.3 trans...) Also if you don't want reverse do a FOC.

rpm arms, good aluminum bulks, 3.3 driveline and foc should get you started

Hey, I can get a video of it running later if you would like. I love the sound the resonator gives it.

It'll also give you a chance to see my massive wheelie skilz WOO! :D

EDIT: here you go :D [ame]http://youtube.com/watch?v=aEJdCL6wLRc[/ame]

thanks for the video. That's a sweet ride. I'm in the middle of putting on my RMP a arms and piggyback shocks as I'm typing this.

Hehe, you're welcome, and thanks. Good luck on that Maxx man, that pipe will make you the envy of the neighborhood. Either that or the nuisance since it's loud as

Well I don't really have to worry about the nieghbors, I live in the country on a big piece of property so I can pretty much do as I please. I'm sure they will prefer the resonator to my 1:1 camaro drag car. When we're tuning on it they get to listen to a 10 second small block revving through open hooker super comp headers.

Cupooterluvr, do you have the traxas talon tires on your truck? I think I saw the 3.3 split spoke wheels with talon tires but I'm not sure. I'm thinking about getting those tires and I was wondering how you like them on hard smooth surfaces like short grass on hard dirt and the street.

Yep, stock talons. They perform great on all surfaces I've tested it on, to include loose beach sand. Plus, in Florida they use St. Augustine grass which is really thick and you actually sink into it when you walk on it. The Talons fly through it like a hot knife and butter.

They are also good in the wear department. I've had the truck probably 3 months now and they look like new, even with mostly street driving.

Even though these tires are awesome, I'm thinking of getting some Proline bowties when I have the cash since my neighbor has em on chrome 12-spoke wheels and they look so awesome. They also perform better onroad.
