Ok I have a 3906 E maxx with the orange esc with a purple heatsink the stock novak one, and It is fried. now my question is would the newer evx-2 esc work in my maxx with the stock engine setup or does anybody else make a esc for the dual battery and motor combo??? I can pick up an evx-2 on fleabay for around 70 bucks but I'm not sure if the voltage difference would matter? please help guys

I am pretty sure that the EVX-2 will work just fine, that is the one that comes in the newer version of the E Maxx right? if so you should not have any problems using it.

To find out for sure go to www.traxxas.com and look at the specs. as far as I can tell it is just rated for two 7cell batteries or 16.8 volts.

yeah thanks for the info, I was about to order it last night but then, I started looking at some different bl setups and the hpi flux kit caught my eye. I bet that would really wake my maxx up

Better upgrade the tranny, diffs axles, ect... The whole drivetrain in a nut shell. The evx would be a more economical choice. 2 extra cells would wake it up more then you think, especially if ya run quality 5000 nimh's. Then you could use the slipper to keep it all together, yet still wheelie in first.

i have the e-savage. wonder if that system would be enough for it. also wonder if it will handle 12 cells

Edit: it will only handle 8 or 2s lipo.. well then... really wonder if it will be enough. is that the same system in the savage flux?

double edit: (yep I'm just that cool) nope not even close to the savage flux system.

The evx 2 will handle 14 cells. Not sure about motor limits, though. I'm gonna pick one up because they're water proof and I think the higher turn mod motors I'm running(23t compared to the stock 21t) will like a couple more volts. My buddies new E Maxx runs nice with the single speed tranny and 2 4200 7 cell tenergy packs. I'm not sure how the e savage and the maxx size up, weight wise and such, but It should move your savy fine. And you can get it wet!

i was talking about the flux setup someone linked to on tower

the e savage is small, a little bigger then a stampede

i got the evx2 on the way, but that flux setup is just too appealing... I'M seriously thinking bout buyin a nice roller to go brushless in maybe a revo!

I waiting for someone to come out with a waterproof brushless system that has the power of the flux or the mamba monster. I would rather have brushed motors and be able to get it wet.
