I am new to the forum and hobbie scene, basically i have just bought a hpi trophy 3.5, i have upgraded the steering servo to a power hd metal gear'd 1. now my servo's (both throttle and steering) are doing there own thing without my control, the car takes off from me and i have no control, the fail safe doesn't kick in either so the battery's aren't dead? i have only used the car twice since running it in

Thanks
Gav

I would check the transmitter, make sure there is not interference in the area. Make sure no one else is using the same type of transmitter if you are at a track and others are racing. Look into a digital transmitter and receiver combon if the above doesn't solve your problem.

I just bought a new buggy and while I was breaking the engine in the servos started oscilating for now reason and then go to full open with no control via the transmitter. I am replaceing the brand new servo in hopes of solving the problem ( the servos where making a wierd noise even though the were brand new that noise is an indication of a defective servo.

LoL!

A lot of guys run down their batteries when the car is new. They are experimenting with the steering and throttle, usually when it's on the ground. Any time you have problems getting signal, the FIRST thing you do is install fresh batteries in both units. NOT cheapies, but good Alkalines.
Do that first, let us know how it does, and if you still have a problem well run you through the next test.
Fail safes work if the batteries get low, but not when they're dead.
