I purchased the Novak HV Pro 4.5 Brushless System for the revo. Some quick questions:

1. Can I install this without the motor cap etc for the EREVO they are out of stock, or do I have to wait for them?
2. Can someone suggest a pinion gear to work with this setup?
3. I'm considering the max amps 8000 HV packs for the EREVO. With that setup, what kind of performance should I get in a parking lot, eg straight race, speed? Any other battery suggestions since the price of these packs is quite high?

8000HV. You're still talking 2s right? You wont get a 3s of that size in the battery boxes anyway would you?
It will go well enough to be fast on the track, but it wont be jaw dropping.
What motor cap do you mean. The cover for the second hole in the motor plate?

The Novak system has a motor cap in the box that will probably work. It is designed to fit the E-Maxx so I would think it will work with the E-Revo as well.

Yeah 2, will I see a lot of speed on asphalt, at least 40 mph?

Dont know if the included motor plate will work

I am using two 2S 8000HV lipo packs with the stock motors.

Yesterday I made some speed runs on asphalt and it was clocked at 30mph. This is actual speeds and not estimated. I was using a Bushnell radar gun.

Based on that, I think your estimate of 40mph using a single brushless motor is reasonable.

weird, i was thinking it was faster. The ol firestorm was clocked at 48mph with a mamba 6900 and 2S lipo. I know the truck isn't nearly as heavy as yours but still, 30mph doesn't seem that quick at all.

edit: then again, it IS stock motors. i guess i can see that.

Stock motors and stock pinions.

Actually the setup is going to be perfect for on-road racing on a 10th scale track. Top speed is not as important as low end punch which is has plenty of.

boooo, unreal low end and unreal top end is the only way to go. :)
