Another thing to consider is the stock Savage motor is a .28, and I always like to go with a similar size or bigger, unless there's a good enough reason to step down to a much smaller mill. IMHO, the OS engines provide some of the best bang for the buck, they have excellent life expectancy, and great customer service. I researched engines quite a bit before I got my Savage, because I was going to do a big block conversion on my T-Maxx, but then I decided it would never be set up to really handle the power well, so I bought the Savage instead and got more truck for les money. I have also heard of many people being very happy with their axial engines, and they are priced quite reasonably if I'm not mistaken. If I bought an engine today, it would probably be an OS though.
