I'm thinking about getting a new engine for my savage because i need a new piston new connecting rod and a new crankshaft. hers a list of engines that i found but idk which one I'm thinking about the picco .28.

cen 7.7
picco .28
force .32
5.9

thats what i was leading too its just that i dont want to use a pull start to start it and i have to find screws that will fit the roto start.

I'd say go the Picco.
The CEN motor is powerful, but not very fast.
The force would be pretty good, but a bit cheap.

I was told the 5.9 was a no no...the other ones on there besides the Picco I have not seen them running. Did you consider the O.S. 30VG? That would be my choice if I wanted to invest money in a good engine. And I think they do make a roto-start plate for it.

The Cen 7.7 takes modification to make it fit and is not really worth it in the long run. I would say the LRP .28 Spec 3 or the Picco P3 would be the best bet and they are both under $200. The Force .32 is "ok" is so-so on reliability.

yea thanks guys I'm most likely going to go with the picco .28

just curious what modifications would you have to do to it?

A kit from New Era is sold for it.

Looks cool but the engines are low RPM....lots of torque.....however, slow!
