Read the stickies as mentioned above. Other than that - PATIENCE. Nitro engines are finicky during break-in. And, if it's very cold where you are, I would wait until warmer weather(usually 60* or above),this also reverts back to patience. :)
 
if its a revo read the manual and watch the dvd.... i did mine through there break in and iv gone through over 3 gallons and its still screaming for more.

You may wanna think long and hard about doin a break in with those temps. IMO Traxxas engines can be VERY tempermental and if not broken in to an exact word for word from the traxxas manual than you may spend the rest of your nitro days tryin to chase that perfect tune
