ok how hot is the TM motor supposed to run? i have one on a revo , it lost compression , I've resized it and in break in process and it seems to keep getting higher and highertank 2 was coming in @ 280's tank 3 came off @ 320's! I know thats not where any motor should be. I also have a 3.3, and I've got no problems out of it for temp. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

since noone has replied to this yet, I'm putting my two pennies in, i bought a used 3.3 off a kid who parted out his revo(he bought used) dont know what had been done to the engine but it ran great but overheated easily, had tons of compression. I bought the traxxas head shims and put a thicker shim in it and corrected the problem, i dont know about tm engines or pinching as I'm just starting to piddle around with it myself or if your concern stems from that, maybe the gurus on here can get closer to that answer......

You probably sealed a leak when you tightened the head back up. Yuki, it's most likely an air leak if your sure it isn't the tune. Read the tuning tips and tricks at the top of the nitro forum. It explains sealing nitro engines.

woke up in the middle of the night, and remembered i typed thinner shim, when i meant thicker, negative on the air leak, unless there was some foreign material between head and block, cause head screws were tight, had already re o-ringed carb, backplate, fuel system, etc, can't be 100% positive on the repair being the shim, but it sure looked like it.......as far as yuki,s concern goes, my clutches were slipping last night, i should have thought of that..............
