When you seal the engine I've read and seen vids that say to use a product called 'Green Slime' to seal the needles...

What is it...??
I live in Australia and over here Green Slime is something you put into tire tubes(car, truck, bike ect) to seal and help prevent punctures..
Is this the same stuff...??

If not what can i use... Noone here can help me...
And when i find it where EXACTLY do i put it...??

Thanks :)

Ok so i found a little more info on this stuff and basically i think its just silicone grease...
Is this correct...??

If so i can replace it with any silicone oring grease...??
I've got clear silicone grease i use for work...
Not sure if it can handle heat tho...
Does the area around the needles get that hot..??

green slime is just that stuff that you use in tires. it works great so i've heard. i will be doing it to mine later.

Yeah thats what wrote in my first post...
So the green slime you put in tires is the SAME green slime you use to seal your HSN & LSN...???

The pics I've seen with ppl using it shows it thickish and able to bead around the oring...
The green slime i looked at today at my local auto store was a litte more runny...
I dont think it the same stuff...???

I dont mind buying some of the net except i will be paying like $5 for the slime and $40 for postage... just seems silly..

Or can someone suggest a good alternative...???

Nope. Green Slime is a lubricant from Team Associated. Comes in a tiny tube. You do not use Green Slime tire sealant (for 1:1 cars) on your HSN & LSN.

Thanks Mate :)
And Sorry Rolex but I've read that thread a number of times and have now sealed a number of engines..
Its just wen i get to the needles i have no Green Slime..
So What can I use as a subsitute...??
I've read possibly valaline but i have two questions on that..

1) In Australia we get told (have I've seen it happen a few times) that Vas is petroleium based and not silicone based so it wld destroy the orings...??? is this correct..??

2) Will Vas Get hot in the area u gotta put it and get runny causing problems...??
I know I've seen Vas after a hot day here and it turns to almost a liquid in the tub..

I'm not sure about the one you have posted.
The link I posted above has a distributor for local shipping.

I know you read temps in Celsius, but in Fahrenheit this grease is good from -70 to +400. In Celsius that would be from Brrrrrrrr to Ow, ow, ow!
No nitro engine reaches 400, so this is the good stuff for ya, mate.

Thanx Rolex :)

Well I set my oven to 204cel (400 farenheight) And put the silicone based lube i had and it didnt melt :) so I'm gonna use it on one of my engines untill the stuff from the link you gave me arrives..

I used to use rtv copper gasket to seal my engines stoped usin that and started usin .Lucky Seven engine sealant stuff for works great i use a small paint brush to apply it u can use it to seal needles also i still use a lil green slime to can't go wrong with slime
