Alrighty, I just bought a AcncM head and installed it. I took it outside to run a little bit to see how it did. Well at first start up it said 105, so I ran it a for a Few minutes and it then said 127 "hmmm" I said, so I Leaned it up a little, did some high speed passes and then temp'd 155 "hmmm" I said again. I repeated the same process and then temp'd 170, repeat and then 190. I went to run at 190 and my engine started cutting out at high acceleration. I'm assuming thats not good. I took it inside and reset the HSN and LSN to factory. The AcncM head is doing a great job at keeping temps down but just a little to much soooooo at the end of my ranting does anyone have any tips on how to keep your engine running at operating temps when you have a a aftermarket cooling head? I saw the sock thing but does that work enough to get my engine to where it supposed to be?

There are some tricks for use in winter to keep temps up..

Wrap tin foil around the head

Cut the leg off a baby sock and slip it over the head

Or I've even seen one thing where they looped a peice of paper around the head and used a peice of tape to secure it to itself.

All leaving the top of the head exposed

Hope you can resolve your problem!
 
forgot to mention I live in Ohio and the temp its around 70-80 degrees
 
Oh ok wasn't for sure because around here one day your wearing a jacket and the next day its close to 90F
 
Yeah it can be like that here sometimes....I just want to meake sure my engine isnt running poorly.....sniffle
 
You should lean out the LSN to bring the temp up. As long as you have a good idle, and good punch off the line. At WOT, your HSN is now too lean to provide enough fuel. It's a close balance, but do it a little at a time and it will get where it should be.
 
Let me just say that the sock on the cooling head works wonders, my engine is now running at 220-230 constant and shifts when it is supposed to :) yay
