Hi, I am really new to this, just bought this Tmaxx

It was working great, then started to rev without speed for a while before revving and no speed at all

My guess is a clutch problem of types

Thanks

Rod

First make sure the large spur gear from the clutch bell isn't stripped. If it's good, try holding it still while you start to rev the engine slowly. If you can hold it back, there's a problem inside the clutch bell. If the clutch engages, and you CAN'T hold it back, the problem might be in the trans. Also, check your driveshafts underneath.
You also need to make sure that all 4 wheels are properly mounted on the hexes. If one is broken or stripped, or a pin is missing, it will spin freely under power and not transfer any power to the other 3.
Keep us posted, we'll figure it out.

hi, one other point, It will not allow me to reverse by hand, it stcks

does this mean the trans is a prob

hi i am new. But... I have an idea. My tmaxx has done this a few times before, maybe not the same situation, but: try shifting in and out of foward/reverse. This usually happens when I try to shift into reverse. Hope it helps, bye!

I'm pretty new too, but mine was revving and not moving as well. How high does it rev? I was kinda stupid and didn't reallize I was running too rich and the rpm's were not high enough to engage the clutch. I just leaned HSN, and presto, truck was rocketing down the street. :)

Yeah dude, Make sure your not in forward/reverse, It can happen and will leave you speechless. Its happened to me a few months ago.

I was breaking in my wife's T-maxx this past Saturday and half way throughthe 4th tank she calls me over to tell me the truck won't move. She hits the throttle and it just revs. Tried the forward/reverse trick and still nothing. Tear down at home. Lost the gear at the front of the case on the two speed shaft, part #4995. Traxxas is sent me a new one and a bearing. Cause is unknown but I think she panicked and hit reverse while under throttle. Anyhow, if it is not your spur gear pressure on the pegs, and if it is not the forward/reverse shifting servo position, then a disassemble might be in order. Took one hour to get apart, 2 blinks of the eye to see the problem, 20 minutes with Traxxas and 2 hours to reassemble with new part, after cleaning out little white gear pieces everywhere.

this might help take off the clutch bell and look at the clutch pads/shoes and see if they are shiny if they are take some high grit sand paper and buff them up and so check to see if the clutch spring in good and nothing is sticking

Ya, check ur slipper clutch. I've had the same thing with the rustler. Make sure the nut is tight enough, like the others guys said^^^^.
