Hi Guys/Gals,

Do you have to relace the head ring when you take it off(like the head gasket on a car engine),also, can I use a 46 crank,piston and rod on a 25?

Also,in your opinion what are the best servos,and can you turn a sf1 into an sf2 by changing the gears?

Do most people like robinson gears over the stock and what is the most common ratio?

Are teflon shoes better then aluminum or vice versa,and of course do you like three shoe over two?

Just read about the new X Savage and was wondering what kind of a dent it will put in my wallet

If you twist it or warp it, it won't do it's job.,also, can I use a 46 crank,piston and rod on a 25? No, they look similar but they will not work. I've tried.

Are teflon shoes better then aluminum or vice versa,and of course do you like three shoe over two? Can't speak to the teflon vs. aluminum question, but I prefer 3 shoes over 2, they tend to last longer, IMO.

i think aluminium are better than Teflon well they last longer LOL
i have a nova 3 shoe clutch and i personal think it is very good for the price.

as for servos it depends on how much you want to spend LOL
i think most people like Robinson's gears i hear people talking about them a lot.
And if you are running the .25 15/49 gearing is a good all rounder.

2 vs 3 shoe, 3 shoe will grab better. 2 shoe is only suitable for lower powered engines like the BB .21.

Aluminum provides more grab but require more maintenance. Check your CB every couple hours of runtime and clean with a scotchbrite pad.

IMO you do not need robinson spurs. Plastic spurs are inexpensive and break for a reason. If the slipper clutch is properly adjusted, gear mesh is correct, and cb/shoes are in good order you shouldn't break spurs very often. With robinson spurs the excess force will get tranfered to the rest of your drivetrain and can damage it.

Best servos are what you can afford. A good inexpensive upgrade over stock is hitec 645 for steering, and moving the stock steering servo to throttle/brake duty. It all goes uphill from there in terms of price and torque/speed.
