i have just about a gallon of fuel through my ss. i am wondering how much compression my motor should have. i can turn it fairly easy by hand. the backplate came loose and i didn't notice. probably got about 4 or 5 tanks through it with the backplate loose.

well I've only got 3 motors under my belt. I have an old O.S. rg21 and it spinns really easy so I would say put it back to gether and let it ride. just make sure and use your after run oil.

Mudbug if after you threadlock the backplate screws you still have problems with the engine compression I would advise you to contact HPI as they will most likely warranty the motor. Later

they will probably warrenty it like the tranny i have waiting over there. i think that is probably a part of the problem with the motor. something was screwed up with the tranny since i got it. had to give it a good amount of throttle to get it going for break in. also noticed when i tool it apart to clean out the motor when i noticed the oil in it when the backplate came loose a couple of nice size pits in the piston. when will the troubles end???? oh well who cares i am having fun. truck is extreamly tough. cartwheeled it 12 times and nothing broke. what fun we have around here
