I've done some mild polishing on a couple mills & new there were reasons for the induction, transfer, & exh. ports & how there set up. You'll need 1 or 2 good books about porting 2-strokes, a bench for mounting a test stand & a degree wheel to bolt on the crank. I made mine out of a peice of aluminum & marks for- tdc, 90, 180, 270 for 360 drgrees with 1 degree marks in between. Wheww-did that open alot of information. Going through 1 revolution will give you all the drgrees for everything, & overlaps & you can make a chart of your engine & if you dont know what to improve show it or fax it to a good porting guy. Instead of getting lame questions he'll see you know how to drgree a 2 stroke & may be more willing to help. Use different colors on your chart for the---transfer & exh. & induction. And when your all done you can make a clock (it'll be round) for your shop or home & people will think your a master mind. Your also gonna need a home made pointer for the wheel & I believe you can get a plastic 360 degree wheel at office depot or simular type place. I made mine cause I had a 180 degree job & just flipped it over, plus its shiny!
