hi all thanks for lookin at my post i have a kyosho rally car and it has a gx 12 engine in and it seems to be runin very very slow the shop telt me to start on 25% nitro fuel so i did and am getin bord of it a bit should i buy a new engine and start with a smaller % fuel or just use the gx 12 and see what happens?? thanks

what kinda condition is your 12 in.. does it still tune well and stuff.. what temps are you running at.. that will tell you right there if you can leanout a little bit... try not to swich fuel %'s keep with the same stuff. it will help your tuning stay regular.. and what do you mean by slow? not alot of compresion slow, or not tuning well slow?

i meen slow as in speed wise its slow

yea its in good condition dont no what you meen by dose it still tune well and i dont know what temp i am runin it at thanks

what i ment buy does it tune well is, that when a motor is old and worn out, it is very hard to tune the carb and will not run reall smooth.. but you said its still good, so scratch that.. if you want to get the most out of your motor, you should invest in a temp gun. they only cost bout $25 here in the states.. the benifit is that you can tune your motor to a tempature and not what it sounds like.. so you can pick a nice worm number like 250* and tune your motor to that temp. youl be able to safly lean it out and still keap an eye on the tempature without smoking any thing.. a leaner motor means more "punch" and higher top speed.. but dont try to do that with out a temp gun.. you can easilly do serious damage.. when you get your temp gun, let me know.. i can give you more details. and you should have that little .12 screaming!!.. if you are planning on getting a hotter motor, you should do your experamenting on the little .12.. so that when you finaly do get a new mill youll be able to tune it well, and it will last a long time. as far as the nitro percentage. its always safer to run the same stuff all the time.. a motor thats not new, will cry like a little baby when changed all the time.. 25% is a hot mix. i run 20% and with my temp gun can easly tune it well..

What do yall think about temp probes? they string through the cooling head and i'm sure you're farmiliar with them. whuch should I buy? a gun or a probe?

I'm not too familar with the probe.. is it an on-board or an external hand unit.. i think you mean a metal probe that you drop down intto the head with a wire and a hand held digital read out?? i like my little $25 dolloar pe1 temp gun. i have had it for many years.. its only bought the size of my 2 fingers and besides it getting lost in the grass, its pretty easy

Its the onboard kind. the wire wraps around the cooling head and goes back to the little screen with buttons on it. Mine is broken which should I get? onboard or gun?

OH, YES FLANDER!!! i have had onboards before.. 2 to be exact. i had a traxxas and a venom..if you have more then one rig its kinda inconveneint. but its such an easy read. as long as you position it were you can see thru the body. i forget wich one it was, but on one you had to reach thru the bodie and hit the mode button, so it was kinda a pain in the ars. the other one was great couse you can just role up and see either the peak or current temp. the problem i had with both of them was they are not water proof at all.. wich is common sense.. ever see that movie "how high" when the tractor trailer runs over the geeks bicycle and he screams "NOT MY BAABY!!" well the life gaurd at the beach was pretty pissed when after surching 5 feet of water for what he thought was my 'BAABY!" taken from my arms by a large wave, turned out to be my savage.. for some reason my onboard temp sensor never worked after that.. hmm
