I'm pretty new and i was thinking of getting a savage. my cousin has a RS4 MT and i wanted to know how fast those usually go in stok form so i can get a better engine. which engine do you think would be good to make the savage be about the same speed as the RS4 MT. plus does anybody know of a good pipe that can make the savage louder? thanks a lot

Welcome to the forum SaVaGeR. I'm not familiar with the RS4 MT, but the stock Savage does about 30 mph out of the box. As far as a better engine I have the Picco .26 and I am loving all the power it gives out for the Savage. Alot of people run the Hyper 8 port also. Both very good engines with about the same power and both are direct bolt-ons. Hope this helps ya.

the RS4 MT is a HPI stadium truck just to let ya know. but thanks

vince

what kind of engine is it and what is the price of the picco.26 and the hyper 8 port? thanks a lot

apples and oranges

Dude, The RS4 MT is a 4WD ST, the Savage is a 1/8 MT, apples and oranges. You can drop in a wupass engine in the Savage and smoke the RS4, but more importantly, the Savage will go where the RS4 can't. Also the Savage has a 2 spd tranny, and you can put in a reverse module. I think the Savage is a better choice, but I'm kind of biased.

I just got the Hyper 8P from this link. Very good dealer, and fast service (but ya gotta deal with PayPal).

One last point, speed aint everything, but it is nice. The stock Savage aint a turtle, it's a rabid groundhog on acid.

oh ok my bad i told you i was a newbie:ha :opps: but thanks

One last thing, SaVaGeR. Make sure you hear the Savage run first with the stock pipe before you decide to get one that is louder. The stock pipe, from what I understand, is louder than most of the aftermarket pipes. You will definitely annoy your neighbors if you run it around your house a lot. I've had guys who were riding quads think that my Savage was a quad from a distance. When they got up close, they couldn't believe it was an RC truck.

yeah, I just ran mine with the Hyper 8 and the stock pipe, and it was loud. Most aftermarket pipes try to bring the noise level down, not crank it up. If you want ear shatteringly loud, drop the pipe altogether and run a perry pump. (that's a joke, don't do it...).

ITs a rabid Savage Bear on Coke, not acid.

With a quad expresso and a few no-doze's to boot. I stand corrected.

I'm diggin the Hyper. 13t CB and it's like nail the throttle, nail the brake, turn around, etc, in the parking lot at work. I'm still giggling about it, and can't wait to get it really dialed in on some dry dirt (been raining almost constantly here for like ever).

ok thanks for the help error401. but whats the difference between the plastic stock pipe and another aluminum or whatever they use fo them? does the plastic melt after a while?
