engine for savage?

I have been hearing alot of guys using the Hyper 8 port. Can't say how good it is though.

There is a good article another board that goes over 2 of the most popular savage engine upgrades; the hyper .21 8 port and the hyper .25. My cousin just got the 8 port. I am waiting on him to drop it in. Hopefully this weekend.

Do us a favor; post a link to the information. This site does not ban users for posting links to other sites. Especially when the other site is informative. Just don't hype another forum for the sake of publicity...there are proper places for that.

Anyway, back to the engine...links to the articles you mentioned regarding the Hyper 8 port and the Hyper .25, please.

Sorry. I just did not want to disrespect this site in any way. Thanks though for clearing that up...

Here is the link.

There is also a new engine that is featured on the front page of that site. I have not had time to read that info though.

Not a problem and I doubt any offense taken. You might want to PM that site's link to one of the Mods. They can then add it to our links page. Good sources of information (new or old) are always a good thing.

i just bought the 25 for $130 brand new. w/ a tuned dual exhuast pipe and cold air intake, it should scoot pretty good

The 8port is a direct fit and doesn't need holes drilled to mount it...the Ofna .25 is the one that needs to be drilled.

I personally have plans on getting the 8port in the future.

Do you have to cut the shaft on it or anything?

Also, what glow plugs should I run in it?

Also what Motorsaver air filter should I get to use on it?

wavejake,

What engine are you talking about regarding cutting the shaft? I dont believe you need to do anything for the 8port, but I'll check into that.

I would recommend getting the HPI high performance air filter...the hpi filter has been said to be a motor saver rename, and they look completely the same, and costs a few dollars less then the actual motor saver filter.

I have the HPI filter on order and should be receiving it within the next day or two, I'll let you know what I think about it when it comes in.

I finally got my HPI filter today and all I can say is MONDO HUGE! Exactly what the doctor was looking for!

our savages use macoy 8 or 9 on their 8ports. The HPI filter that WoodiE is talking about is great. I dont know the part number fo the motorsaver filter, but like WoodiE said, they are identical.

I have the 8 port and still in the breaking-in process...the compression on it is high, I got blister from pulling on the pullstart...
