So, my engine is almost about to die out, and i was wondering what engines are direct drop in? Like other than the k5.9? I'm looking for a high torque engine that i do not need to drill holes or anything just drop it in and tighten scrrews. Let me know with links if possible!
Thanks

isint that like the stock f 4.6? Its .28...........Andthis is direct fit ?

Ok cooool, i guess i know what the next engine is. Well, what do u guys reccomned, K5.9 or the PICCO ur talking about? Propebly the 5.9 right?

i would go with the picco seal it before u run it and the engine will be the most reliable/ power full engine for the money, this way your not burning up tons of fuel like the 5.9 ( just another great thing about it)

i mean the carb ( were the metal and plastic come together) and the backplate, i also sealed the high speed needle. i think there is one more place but i forgot. use red utv

The Picco would be a better quality choice for sure and it will probably smoke the 5.9.
It is one of the most powerful engines on the market.
You will need to be extra patient with the break-in, there is a big difference between a RTR engine and a quality race mill.

as in what? lIKE GOTTA run more tank for break in than normal?

Yes, these engines are uber tight when new. I highly suggest using a heat gun or hair dryer to preheat them before starting it until you get a 1/2 gallon or so on it. These engines can take well over a gallon for the pinch to completely relax, then they are ready for a good race tuning.

Man I would love to line up with a Picco .28 with my truck and see how they would compare on a flat out run, obviously with the same gearing. I have heard people say on here that the Picco is a better, more powerful mill, but the statistics on them is like comparing a 600cc engine with a 770cc engine so I can't see where people are getting their reasoning. I mean I would agree if the 5.9 was made in 1990 and the Picco was made in 2008. That would make sense.

I suppose its all speculation and personal opinion.

Has anyone actually raced a Picco .28 in a Savage against a K5.9 in a Savage, both having the same gearing?????

Good point, it really doesn't matter. We have a saying in the snowmobile world when guys start in on the 4 strokes getting better gas mileage, that is, "we don't measure our sled by miles per gallon but rather smiles per gallon"

I love my truck I think its the best thing out there for me.
Cheers
