ok iam out trying to start my maxx it starts up. I start revng it and it dies. I start it again i punch the throttle let go and it dies i don't know what wrong whith it any ideas?

Probably just needs to warm up. How long has it been since you last used it? How cold is it outside when this occurs? Which engine (TRX Pro .15 or thw new 2.5)?

its a pro .15 and it the heat sink was kinda hot. It was out in my garage i was out there with a t-shirt and jeans barefoot and i was fine

OK well what is the temp out side? What geographic region are you in? It verywell could be cold as sky stated. you motor has to get to over 150 before it will even want to think about doing anything. IF its not cold there then it sounds possible that you are running to fat so you can try leaning out the hs a bit no more than a 1/16 of a turn at a time alos. Just let it idle for about a minute before you try and take off. Or hold the truck in the air and try reving it see if it dies that way also. X

ok the temp out side is 49.8f and i live in Oregon pacific north west. ya it was puffing out smoke pretty good. It dosent really idle that why i rev it but thanks for helping ill try that

When was the last time you ran the engine prior to this "dying" episode? If it has been a while and the weather is relatively cold and wet, you can expect the engine to act up a little during the first time you start it up. It may need to sit and idle for a little bit, or need some steady increased throttle, to get the engine warmed up. I have a similar problem with my Fantom after it has not been used for a week or three.

Get it warmed up, and then see what happens. Happy Maxxin'!

Ya its been some time since i've started my maxx like a month or so. I wanted to get it started because i'am gonna bash with a friend of myne this weekend.

man its doing the same thing. I took a blo dryer to the heat sink and it warmed it up but it still wont idle. When i give it gas it goes for awile then dies out I tried leaning it out and riching it up and it dosent help:mad:

Sounds like you might not know exactly what your needles are set at. I would recommend returning the needles to factory presets and retuning. Once there, leave the LSN alone. Tune the HSN a little rich (maybe a quarter turn). Start it up and let the engine run at idle like that for a little while. Give it a couple of shots of throttle and let it return to idle. Then give it some sustained low throttle inputs. Then open it up to full throttle for a few seconds at a shot. Then let it idle for a little while. See if it maintains the idle. If not, check the idle set screw. The manual gives a good bit of information on how to properly set the idle set screw.

Give this a shot and let me know what happens. BTW, this is just a little something I have done in the past to get a stubborn engine up and running pretty quick. It gives the engine a mini-break-in if you will at the needle setting.

Thanks guys We got it runnin' fine today
we took it to our LHS first. he had it fully closed(HSN) and they reset if for us and they got it started.. but it was too wet to run it.. so we took it to a local school and ran our maxxes under a covered area.. started having the problems again turned out his fuel was shot so we used mine (top Fuel 20%, his was BT 20%) ran it rich for awhile then tuned it and adjusted Idle so it would so it hauls now I mean hauls for a PRO .15:D We were also Taking his dad's so his friend could run it but thank god we took them To LHS or we would still be tyin' to start them.. turned the piston and sleeve were fried

Good to hear that you got it working. Sorry to hear about the piston and sleeve. Sounds like you have a rebuild in your not to distant future.

ya i know it sux but not to be mean but you see me and maxxcrazy draged his 2.5 and my pro not to be mean but I SMOKED YOU!
