I have had my revo for about 1 month. I broke in the engine according to the instructions. Recently, the engine will die after it is warm and usually after a high speed pass. The idle is very erratic and will race, then slow down and back and forth. I noticed when I use the easy start there seems to be some air bubbles in the fuel line that move through as I try to start it. Could that cause the problem? And if so, what should I do about it?

check fuel lines to make sure their is no leaks, and you might want to seal the backplate and carb to stop any airleaks. And the idle should be 1-1.5 mm wide about the thickness of a credit card. and turn the needles to factory settings. Also what temps is you engine running at.

This is my first nitro truck - how would I check the fuel line for leaks? I am not seeing any fuel on the chassis or internals when I drive it. Should I pull all of the tubing and replace it?

I don't have a temp gun but my guess is it is running pretty warm. I live in Phoenix and the last few time I have run it the temp was at least 100 degrees. I will pick up a temp gun. Would high temps cause a decrease in performance?

Is it worth pulling the engine, taking it apart and putting back together to see if there are any leaks?

NO that should not be the next step.

First check your tank, and lines. Look for loose fitting lines or cracked/damaged lines. If your idle is still unstable, seal the carb neck and back plate. If you do not know how to do this let us know.
 
Jon2 has got it. Check the lines. Only takes a small hole to make it suck air. The lines can get damaged quite easy, and they also get old and dry out.

Sealing the carb can be done pretty easy with the engine still in, but the backplate requires a yank.

I will check them out tonight. If that doesn't work I will post and ask for some help with the carb and backplate. I appreciate your help.
 
Same problem here!

My Revo is on it's 8th tank of fuel and I'm having the stalling problem also. As Ralph said, seems to be only after a high RPM run as soon as I let off the throttle and get on the brake. Usually restarts fine. My temps are 225-270 after a hard run. My carb is set a little leaner than the factory settings as I attempt to dial it in per the instructions. It runs great! just stalls.
 
Here is a way to check for leaks without having to pull the engine (after checking the fuel lines). I posted this a while ago. I guess I should do a write up and submit it to the "How To's" section.

Great suggestion. I will do that. I am assuming I can get that through my LHS?

Are air bubbles flowing through the fuel line normal? Also, could the problem be compunded by the fact that I am in Phoenix and have been running the truck in 100 degree weather?

I only get airbubbles after the initial start and when the tank is almost done. If it's consistant and excessive during the whole run, that's a good sign of an air leak somewhere in the fuel line and/or tank. The heat will not affect the air bubble problem only your tuning if there is a big drop in whether conditions.
