Hey guys,
I'm new to this sight but I can already see it's chuck full of good info. I browsed a bunch of the posts but i can't really see anything directly similar to my current problem. Like many of you, my EZ Start stopped being easy and stopped starting my 2.5 - ironic based on its name. So I bought a glow plug driver which starts the engine fine and keeps it running as long as the driver is attached to the plug. As soon as I remove it, the engine dies immediately.

Any suggestions? The glow plug is only used to get the combustion process started right?? Once the fuel is ignited, the engine should just keep running right??

Thanks for any advice!!

It may be that you're running rich. have you looked at the plug after it cuts out. Also if its cold out it wont heat up very well causing it to cut out also.

could be a bad glo plug as well. the plug is used for starting, but it hold heat in the coil after they ignitor is removed. if its bad then no heat.

Thanks guys. I know the plug is OK because my driver has an indicator on the top that shows if its not getting warm enough. I must be running too rich - it is a bit colder here in Upstate NY than the last time I ran it which was in the summer. There is a little raw gas coming out the exhaust pipe now that you mention it. I know the HSN is dialed in pretty well but I will play around with the LSN a bit. Anyone know if i have to go clockwise or counterclockwise to lean that out a little?
