no mike I'm not that narrow minded, i know it has bearing issues on some of the engines, more than they should. its the right mill for me though. lots of power and smooth delivery. here we are talking about THE best engine in different catagories, i know the vspec isnt the best, but damn close.

AC48, $370 for the pullstart version. check out www.crispycrittershobbyshop.com Ed usually keeps them pretty well stocked, or you can go directly to www.ebmods.com and buy from the man himself. i tell ya what, id love to stuff one of those things in my boat with a marine head. rumor has it, the thing makes over 4hp. Ed, uses a dyno when he mods, so he can back everything up, unlike some other modders.

You guys are all completely nutso and I can't believe theres not been one vote for it, surely the best engine in the world EVER has got to be the Duratrax Torq .21.

Then again i have been sniffing glue all morning.

how does that work, if you blew it up it means your piston and liner a stuffed, and you can't have sold the crank or case cause you sold it again, so you either ripped someone off, or............
I blew it up cause the bushing inth eConrod turned to dust......I think some dirt got in it.....there's the piston/sleeve/conrod NOT SOLD
Sold the head for 20 Carb for 40 and Filter for 15...where does that imply I sold a bad case or crank to anyone or ripped anyone off.....I don't like accusations like you just made dude, I take my word very seriously....In person I take it even more so...If someone wants to call me on Bullshit they better have stayed up did their friggin Homework......the crank and case are going to a guy at the track sat (maybe) cause he fukced up his brand new one by starting it w/ no Collet spacer, didn't say it was being sold to a brain surgeon......and he ruined his bearings....I said he can rebuild it w/ my old case cause the bearings are still like new......and his crank might have gotten a little chewed by his mistake.......

I'm thinking of getting teh fantom 27 since plaid has one and he seems to like it. 150 bucks and your got an engine that cranks out 2.9 hp. Sounds like a winner to me if your not worried about being race legal.

Touchy touchy, u said you blew it up then sold the bits, just wanted to know what had blown up, thanks
sounds more like the bush got play in it and was impacting

OK...I was feeling a bit of a acusation in the thread is all......I dunno what happened but the lower bushing just shattered...when I pulled the conrod off it turned to flakes of brass or copper and crumbled.......NEVER SEEN THAT ONE......Basher I like the mill and I've got 4 other people I know running it but mine just crapped out...I'm sending it back to fantom cause there's some funny marks in the sleeve and one half of the piston head looks polished on the side and the other half looks like it's never touched anything...then there's thesediagonal rings inside that looks like the piston chattered in the sleeve.....I described it to the todd or tony at fantom and they are gonna take a look aat it....if it;s how I described it to him I think I'll either get it fixed or new........crossing my fingers.....but I broke in my other RG and I'm gonna use that for a while I guess.....I think I want to try a collari next for a race legal engine....

Sounds good plaid I hope they fix it. I might get an rg till i become a better driver and then buy a fantom. I would probably sell the usable parts off of it after the engine blows like you did and then just buy a fantom. Thats a great idea you had and I'm gonna do the same thing.

I'm trying to unload a bunch of stuff and get a new radio and and a bad mill for my buggy that's race legal too.....I'm lookin more at the P5 lately....it's a nova so I know it's good.......Ran my new RG tonite and got T-boned just after the first lap and it knocked me so hard my engine shifted and snapped 2 teeth in a row on my center diff gear......sucks cause I was starting to really enjoy the buggy again...it was more driving and less engine use to get a good line down...I finally got it al ready to race after tuning it and working bugs out from my tear down of the buggy......FRICKEN FRACKIN FUDGE BUMBLE BLAH!!!!!!

Hey plaid Rick Brake (RB mods) says that his modified OS RG will tear apart a stock VSpec. for under $200 you could have a killer engine. I"m thinking of doing that when one of my mills kicks the bucket.

I've been talking to the Heli mechanic at my LHS...he does engine mods too...I had him break in my RG on his stand for me....I ran it saturday...it took another 4 tanks before it really started to get going but man what a difference.....from what I understand about the modding is this.....It's much easier to take an engine w/ good bottom end and increase the top end but it's almost impossible to mod one fo rhte other way.....I think I'm gonna try having this one modded when I get my Fhantom back.....I always liked having sleeper cars in real life...why not do it for RCs....is there any ROAR rules on engine mods?.......I didn't sell the crank case this weekend from my last RG so I think I'll have the crank turbo cut and rebuild another RG...I have another spare carb too...just need a head.....maybe I'll try the Nova head on the modded one.....I dunno I'm still trying different mills to see what I really like...I take the money factor into consideration alot more than performance...If Iccan get a modded rg that's just as dependable as the stock one I'd be happy w/ a mill under 200.....

I don't think ROAR has any restrictions on modding engines. Jared Tebo runs an odonnel modded ws72 and he doen'st have any problems, and he won 2 out of 3 pro events.

only restriction roar has is displacement, mod away. may i recommend getting new piston, sleeve, rod and having Ed Bridges do it for you. www.ebmods.com he only does new or rebuilt engines, thats his only stipulation.

I know 2 guys locally that do em...I'd rather deal w/ them cause they're close...one is Maxy from Maxy's fuel and the other guy is a heli mech... they are both very well known in this area and I've seen some of Brians work before......good guy to deal w/...he's not doing it professionally but he's really good at it.......just out of curiosity what do those guys charge for a turbo cut/port & polish type job......

The guy up here charges $79.00 for the works, he polishes and re-balances all his motors.
