I think it was RCCA or Extreme RC magazine that did an article on engine modding some time ago (within the last year maybe). The guys that do it professionally don't really give out thier secrets though you can compare a modded and non-modded sleeve and crank and get an idea. Word of warning though, if you mess it up you screwed!
 
That is true but on a eng. that is on its last leg it would be somthing to play with. Who knows what could happen. I have a few i could mess with as far as puttin a mod on them and give them a little pinch.
 
What most guys do like EB Mods and RB Mods, TNT Mods is work on the porting smoothing it out and cleaning it up, dressing some of the ports and extending the tear drops. Also balance and fill the crank and polish it. There's a few other odds and ends in there as well
 
Our advice is to buy a better engine before throwing a dremel on your engine. I haven't seen anybody that has the tools to rebalance a crank and piston, so that isn't happening.

We did a test on a modded engine before and after and we got about a 6% gain in power, which is what we expected...the modifier expect way more.

We've also shown time and time again on the X-Dyno that a stock looking engine can and will put the same power out for cheaper.

Is modding worth it? I'm not sure, there are a few I'd trust to do some "mods" but unless you racing on-road it doesn't matter that much.
