i picked up that emaxx 14.4 for 100 bucks had an issue fixed it bu the thing only goes like 5mph is that really all the faster they go if so I'm going to brushless

Haha, no. I don't think they're supposed to go 5 mph. Unless that was sarcasm...if you're literally going 5 mph, you have a problem with it. I've never personally seen a stock E-Maxx run, but it wouldn't be ridiculously fast I don't think, comparing to other electric Traxxas models. The Brushless upgrade would be awesome however!

This is the old E-Maxx I am assuming. Check the manual on the link it could be in training mode on the ESC.
I have one of these models myself and it don't go 5mph lol. Even for an old model I am affraid to let my kids run it because of the power.
