Has hpi ever thought of making a electric savage? Or has anyone made one? That would be fun to bash with.

i dont think they have ever made the savage in an electric version. i would like to ask you the question why you think it would be cool to have it electric?

I did see a kit on ebay once to convert the savage to electric. Also, I have seen a kit to make it all steering.

Even though brushless has significantly come down in price, it would take a helluva wallet to get the same performance as even a stock 25. 746 Watts to a horsepower. 2.5 (claimed) horsepower x 746 = 1865 Watts. That's one monster brushless with hungry, battery-eating tendencies.

Now if money wasn't an object, it would be a cool project. These brushless motors can get close to 100 percent rated torque at low RPM's, so yes, there are advantages...

What a shame. why would you yank all the good stuff out of it? :wedgie:

Going electric is alot better for rock crawling. You can run it anywhere you please without pissing people of due to noise. If going brushless they can be geared to go faster then a nitro, if speed is what you want or geared low for tractor pulling without having to worry about overheating like a nitro will. The biggest down fall of a electric is you'll want alot of good quality battery packs and a couple of good chargers for those batteries. But on another note once you have all of the equipment you'll not have to worry about having to let your rig cool and refuel like you are suppose to do with a nitro.

Just my opinion of the few differences between a electric and nitro RC.

Why not? Why buy RC fuel when you know you're going to use it and have to buy more? Why even buy an RC because you know no matter how much you put into it you are going to take a loss when you sell?

For the pure enjoyment of finding out whether you can or not. To prove to yourself you can do that even though people say you can't of it's a waste of time and money. Just to say you've done it and made it work. Or even if it does not work now YOU know. Hell you might even find a way to make it work better than others who've previously attempted this same thing.

I know i know. I was just kidding.
Looks kinda cool actually.

A brushless Savage would be cool. A single Hacker brushless motor in a emaxx is quicker than a nitro tmaxx. You can't give it more than 1/2 throttle without flipping backward. RC Solutions made a double hacker powered cybermaxx for the '03 RCX show that was beyond sick. It was radared at 56 mph the first time out. Then the driver tapped the brakes and it went into a 50 yard cartwheel. It was much faster and quicker than any nitro truck I have seen.

that would be cool. i have to admit, that would be really COOL. dual brushless?!?!?! HOLY CHIT. better have a nice charger and some 3200 packs... also el pirata, tell pissant to take some nyquil. or vikadin, or sumething, cause i think he soiled his panties when i accidentally dissed him... sry for that pissant, but i was LMAO
