Has anyone been keeping up with Egypt's issue? I have been following the story 5-min updates since it started, officially today it has become violent, those for and against their president are clashing and battling, while the army does nothing....They are getting low on food, the chaos is spreading across Egypt, just like to hear what everyone else has heard, opinions, what is your news saying?

I find it hard to believe that with that many people pushing to have him step out of office, that he hasnt or that he hasnt been forced out by the military or someone else...

Thats what i thought, they say the Egyptian gov. is refusing advise to step down now, they say it will only make things worse, the people wont stop unless he steps down by friday pretty much, and if he does things risk complete chaos, and if he does not, they will not stop....

Reporters are being mobbed and beatin, cbs Katie Couric was mobbed they say, cnn Anderson Cooper was beatin, "wide spread crack down on journalists" it is not only the US trying to get in and stop it either, i have been using the "Snarfer" program to get the news from just about every news cast, it is looking pretty nasty, and not looking like it will get any better, and the impact on us as well as others is not looking good, with gas expected to go up 10-20 cents by march, and one barrel of oil reaching just over 100$, only to incline even more as the time passes, by the minute it is getting worse...

Thats what i said! If they get too messy over there, that is exactly what will end up happening, even if it is not the usa trying to straighten them out...

I'm sure if bush had a say hed throw the usa in there for sh!ts n giggles

Just this once, I think all the "civilized" countries should butt the hell out. It seems it brings more problems than solutions, when we do.

This is an Egyptian internal matter we should back off and let them handle it. The US is not the world's police force.

Hey true that i do not disagree at all, but they are already talking about war between the nations....i will post some links if anyone is interested, i get news updates from around the world every 5-min so i have the dirty scoop, us and ITUC is demanding the egyptian president step down, or something will be done about it, not looking good for us guys, do some reading, this is effecting everything nationally and globally, it is going to get ugly. :(

Has everyone kept up with Egypt? Holy is it a mess, looks to be getting worse, people over here by the group name Anonymous, hacked there internet as soon as it was up, gov. web sites and shut it down to help the protest, and they say it is spreading through Egypt, they are already talking about war between the nations, and all big world leaders are meeting up Saturday in Berlin i believe to discuss some of the issues including nuclear disarmament....

I don't think that there are too many nuclear weapons in the middle eastern nations except for maybe in Israel.

I did read that President Mubarak is going to step down and not seek re-election nor will his son. Hopefully this will settle the rioters down.

Lets hope so, not much nuclear i don't believe, US was worried once the hackers took down the Egyptian Gov. web sites. It really depends on the protesters at this point, if they get worse the Egyptian president may not step down risking complete chaos, if they calm, he may, but it is doubtful, things were calm for there so called "D-Day" but they say it is spreading through the social network, and we hope it does not spread physically, not only for the sake of the Egyptians and there country, but also in sake of us when we look at gas/oil prices, food as well. Food is something they are beginning to experience a shortage of, no money because the banks are closed. Only thing stopping those for the president from attacking those against was there military...Lets hope it gets better, it will only effect us globally if it does not get better.....

Bart....I have to say you are 100% correct. Let them sort it out on their own. They will get the aggression out and things will calm down on their own.

Thats where its at for sure. I don't think the US just wants to step in and straighten it out even so everyone calls it "Obama's Iraq" everyone wants to fix it for not only the issues it will cause with oil/gas/food prices, but also what it could start through there nation, some worry it could spread, not only causing issues over there, but raising the chances of terrorist attacks over here, and for the UN, other areas over there, i believe that is there main concern, even if the trip for oil due to the canal being shut down is an extra 6,000 miles, causing prices to sore, I'm sure we can handle it, they are worried about the chance of it spreading, inspiring others to join, a lot of the Irab would like to take advantage of it, they are already expecting more, there have been attacks on Americans, mobbed journalists and even one being threatened to be be-headed, it is the violence on our people, and the chance of it spreading increasing the chances of terror, and the rise of Osama Bin Laden, which they believe is watching and plenty ready to take advantage of the issue, that they are worried about. I get press releases, and statements, and i read them, the US does not want to haft to intervene, especially because of the peace treaty, and our long time connection with the Egyptian president, where he has been our top ally with the Irab world. The Obama administration, knows we cannot afford it, nor should we make another Iraq, as you see they have not invaded, or even talked of taking any sort of military action, they want them to solve it them selves, right now the white house is playing defense, and only encouraging the Egyptian president to take the right action. Don't worry about us stepping in, worry about gas going up 10-20 cents by march, yes, by march, the US does not want to invade or take over, but simply help straighten it out in sake of international trade, oil, fuel, food, and the dept crises. Everyone is angry not because Egypt is crazy, but more because there issues are bringing on global issues, from then on, it is not just there issue, but everyone, even more than just the US, all too many depend on us, and all too many depend on them, if they make a mess out of us, we make a mess out of everyone, dept is bad enough now as it is, that is the reason the US and UN really want to help, not invade or attack, but help, yes we condemned them for the attacks on our US citizens, but they do not plan to attack over it, but to hope and pressure the Egyptian president to do what is right, fix the situation, give the protesters what they want, and move on with our life's....Does anyone watch the news? The speeches and press releases? This will not be another Iraq, it will be a sore in prices, terror attacks, and the mess they created for them selves.....

I just saw that the president finally gave in and stepped down.

And left the military in charge. Great a new Gadaffi in the making.
